HAN YU
Born in Hsinchu in 1989, Han Yu graduated M.F.A. Department of Fine Arts in Tunghai University in 2016 and her works were exhibited in Taichung, Taipei, Kaohsiung and Dadun Cultural Center in Taichung. Her most of the works are trying to create an illusion by a kind of inner virtual artistic conception. The final purpose is to simulate a hidden space for comforting the heart, even though it is isolated, one can feel comfortable and peaceful. The varied scenery and surrealistic putting together in the image come from what observed in daily life. The objects are magnified and placed together from the perception of micro-view as well as transformed by the subjective views to be assigned a new appearance and form of life. Finally, the tiny objects surrounded have been further combined to make a fantastic landscape.
What felt in life has been reflected in the creating process by the transformation of real scenery. The work is trying to create a real while also spurious secluded paradise which also inherited the traditional concept of "Utopia" to convey a yearning but unreachable place. All of these are to go beyond the real constraints and difficulties as well as expect to lead the audience to an illusory sheltering harbor.
