大雋藝術將於2026年5月16日正式揭幕全新展覽《Exquisite Wasting of Time》(高級的日常浪費)。本次跨界攜手台中家具選品店HAUSEKI,將藝廊空間轉化為一座融合經典設計與當代藝術的「居家畫廊(Living Room Gallery)」。透過HAUSEKI獨特的美學視角與大雋藝術的深厚積澱,邀請觀者步入一場關於「家」的感官旅行。

 

■ 溫柔的反叛,練習一場美好的浪費

在講求效率的現代社會,感官的權利往往被壓縮。本展核心命題「Exquisite Wasting of Time」即是一次對生活節奏的溫柔反叛。我們相信:「坐在名椅上看好畫,是最美好的時間浪費」。當身體安坐於設計大師的傳世經典,目光凝視著藝術家筆下的超現實日常,這段看似無用的「浪費」,實則是靈魂最精緻的補給。

 

■ 當「觀看」與「使用」的邊界模糊

展覽試圖鬆動「觀看」與「使用」之間既定的界線。在由極簡台座塊體陣列構成的空間中,家具不再僅是功能性的填充,而成為被凝視的「當代雕塑」;藝術作品亦跳脫牆面的束縛,滲入空間的骨架,與家具產生視覺上的共振。在觀看與使用交錯發生的瞬間,讓藝術從牆面走進觀者的日常情感,顯現出那份細膩而難以言說的情感重量。

 

本次展覽的核心,是大雋藝術首度邀請英國當代藝術家Conor Murgatroyd帶來七件全新作品。Murgatroyd擅長以琺瑯漆捕捉日常物件的超現實瞬間,其畫作中如瓷器般平滑的質地與飽滿色彩,與場域中經典家具的工業線條相互映照,形成一種跨媒介的感官對話,為空間注入了豐饒的生活煙火氣與敘事深度。

 

■ 向 MoMA 致敬:定義時代的經典對話

為了深化這場跨時空對話,HAUSEKI以紐約現代藝術博物館(MoMA)的館藏標準為核心,挑選出具備歷史厚度與設計張力的經典家具進行策展。

 

這些具備強烈幾何構圖與材料對比的設計傑作,本身就是工藝變革的縮影。當它們與作品對望時,家具跳脫了靜止的陳列,轉化為與畫作共生的生命體,引導觀眾重新思考:當一件家具具備了進入美術館典藏的歷史厚度時,它在當代語境下,如何跨越功能的邊界,與藝術作品及觀者的內在情感產生深刻共鳴?

 

除了Conor Murgatroyd的新作,現場亦同步展出多位大雋藝術合作藝術家的創作。這些跨越時代與媒材的作品,與HAUSEKI的家具、燈具交錯編織空間,共同探討物件如何跳脫在居家的安置慣性,得以在空白的縫隙裡,尋回生活最純粹的本質。

 

Rich Art Gallery is proud to announce the grand opening of its latest exhibition, Exquisite Wasting of Time, on May 16, 2026. This cross-disciplinary collaboration with the Taichung-based curated furniture boutique HAUSEKI transforms the gallery into a "Living Room Gallery", merging timeless design with contemporary art. Through HAUSEKI’s unique aesthetic lens and Rich Art Gallery’s profound curatorial expertise, viewers are invited on a sensory journey into the heart of the "home".

 

■ A Gentle Rebellion: Practicing the Art of Exquisite Waste

In a modern society obsessed with efficiency, our sensory rights are often suppressed. The core proposition of this exhibition, Exquisite Wasting of Time, serves as a gentle rebellion against the relentless pace of life. We believe that "sitting in a masterpiece chair while contemplating a fine painting is the most exquisite wasting of time". As the body rests upon a timeless classic of design and the gaze lingers on the surreal everyday scenes captured by the artworks, this seemingly "useless" interval becomes a refined replenishment for the soul.

 

■ Blurring the Boundaries Between "Observation" and "Utility"

The exhibition seeks to dissolve the established boundaries between "viewing" and "using". Set within a space defined by an array of minimalist plinths and volumes, furniture is no longer merely a functional filler but a "contemporary sculpture" to be gazed upon and respected. Simultaneously, the artworks break free from the constraints of the wall, permeating the structural skeleton of the space to resonate visually with the furniture. In the moment where observation and utility intersect, art steps off the wall and into the viewer’s daily emotions, revealing a delicate and ineffable emotional weight.

 

At the heart of this exhibition is the debut of seven new works by British contemporary artist Conor Murgatroyd, marking his first collaboration with Rich Art Gallery. Murgatroyd excels at capturing the surreal moments of everyday objects using enamel paint. The porcelain-like smoothness and saturated colors of his canvases mirror the industrial lines of the classic furniture in the space, creating a cross-media sensory dialogue that infuses the environment with the richness of daily life and narrative depth.

 

■ An Homage to MoMA: A Dialogue Between Defining Eras

To deepen this trans-temporal dialogue, HAUSEKI has curated a selection of classic furniture possessing significant historical depth and design tension, centered around the acquisition standards of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.

 

These masterpieces of design, characterized by strong geometric compositions and material contrasts, are epitomes of craftsmanship and industrial evolution. When positioned in dialogue with the artworks, these pieces transcend static display, transforming into living entities that coexist with the paintings. They prompt the audience to reconsider: when a piece of furniture possesses the historical weight required for a museum collection, how does it cross the boundary of functionality to resonate profoundly with both the artwork and the inner emotions of the viewer in a contemporary context?

 

Alongside the new works of Conor Murgatroyd, the exhibition features creations from several artists associated with Rich Art Gallery. These works, spanning different eras and media, interweave with HAUSEKI’s furniture and lighting to explore how objects can escape the inertia of domestic placement—finding, within the interstitial spaces, the purest essence of life.
