Elke Foltz
Elke Foltz
Elke Foltz was born in 1990 in Lagny-sur-Marne, France, currently based in Berlin, Germany. She received a Bachelor's degree in Applied Arts and Graphic Design from the University of Toulouse II, France.
Her work explores the search for balance and the connections between individuals. By intertwining or disrupting vivid colors and organic forms drawn from nature, she creates abstract compositions reminiscent of ecosystems, evoking a sense of abstract landscapes inspired by fleeting emotions and a desire to escape. Foltz skillfully uses ink, oil, and paint to build organic structures and layered brushstrokes that generate a natural rhythm of blooming color. Through the interplay of visual rhythm and negative space, she releases an internal breathing tempo, allowing color to stir a sense of spatial uncertainty in unexpected moments, extending the boundaries of visual perception. Foltz has participated in the Blank 100 art residency and her work was also featured in a November 2024 art auction at Weserhalle.
