Yen Tzu-Yun, born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan in 1999, graduated from the Department of Fine Arts at Tunghai University and is currently pursuing her MFA at National Tsing Hua University’s Department of Art and Design.

Her oil paintings delve into the emotional connections within interpersonal relationships. She has held solo exhibitions at Tunghai University and various art spaces, and participated in group exhibitions such as the “Tsing Hua Art Excellence Award”by Spring Foundation. Yen has received multiple awards at the Tunghai Art Exhibition, including First Prize in Poster Design in 2021 and the New Talent Award in 2019.

Yen Tzu-Yun’s paintings, with their soft and hazy oil brushstrokes, capture fleeting moments within everyday life and intimate relationships. Beginning with the notion of “touch” as a creative starting point, she connects with the emotional presences of memory. Through fluid, organic lines and simplified, ambiguous figures, she constructs a space of intimacy that requires no sacrifice. Her use of color—balancing between warm and cool tones—mirrors the harmony and tension within emotional exchanges, forming dynamics that are both close and uniquely individual.
