TAN JUI-WEN
Born in Malacca, Malaysian artist TAN Jui-Wen obtained a master's degree in the creative group of the Department of Fine Arts of Tunghai University in 2015, and was selected as the first prize of the Deutsche Bank Young Creators Award program that year. The idea of Tan's artworks are normally from traveling, including what I saw and heard when I returned to my hometown on the southern tip of Peninsular Malaysia, and standing at the southernmost tip of Eurasia to see the view of sea and the blue lake excavated from the quarry. Those seem the natural scenery and reveal man-made traces with deep. The artist's delicate brushstrokes bring out the vast scenery of lake and sea in his painting, showing an elegant and clear visual experience and leading the viewer into the realm of beauty.
