HUANG SHUN-HSING
黃舜星
1964年生於台北,在北藝大主修水墨,直到90年代負笈英國學習時更能感受到東、西方對藝術創作思維對自身創作的衝擊。1992年取得英國南漢普敦大學與溫徹斯特美術研究所碩士學位,現為大葉大學造形藝術學系副教授與視覺傳達設計學系系主任。曾受邀參展於國美館、國父紀念館、西安碑林博物館,更受邀至德國、英國倫敦、加拿大溫哥華等藝 術機構,以及西班牙巴塞隆納、日本數間藝術院校展出。作品除了呼應西方抽象表現主義中行動繪畫、幾何表現、單色表現的思維外,更試圖將作品遊走於平面繪畫與立體雕塑邊界,探討之間的可能性,並持續思忖如何並置中國傳統書畫元素。
Born in Taipei in 1964, Huang Shun-Hsing was majoring in ink painting.After graduating from university, he went to England to study in 90’s as the same time he was more deeply impacted by the artistic mindset of eastern and western art. In 1992, he had University of Southampton-Winchester School of Art as well as Winchester, UK. /Barcelona, Spain. MA European Fine Art. Now he works as a head of Department of Visual Communication Design and an associate Professor Department of Plastic Art in Da-Yeh University. He was invited to exhibit in National Taiwan Museum of Fine Art, National Dr. Sun Yay Sen Memorial Hall,Xi-An bei Lin Museum, and even was invited to exhibit in art institutions in Germany, London and Canada, moreover, exhibited in a number of art colleges in Barcelona and Japan. His works are not only echoes this method about the mindset of action painting, geometric representation, and monochrome expressions, it also explores the alternative possibility between two-dimensional painting and three-dimensional sculpture. Moreover, he continually considers how to compose the themes of both Traditional Chinese Painting and Calligraphy into his work.
