CELINE FOURNIE
(MPhil in Arts, Creativity and Education),獲頒卓越獎及最佳論文獎,2021年入選日本Mellow Art Award。
Celine Fournier was born in Tainan in 1996. She graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2017, was awarded a distinction and the dissertation award for MPhil in Arts in Creativity and Education from the University of Cambridge in 2020, and was selected for the Mellow Art Award in Japan in 2021. Dedicated to art and education research, Fournier is currently a teacher at Kaohsiung American School and has exhibited her works on several occasions in the US, UK, and Taiwan.
For Fournier, self-exploration is a lifelong task that is reflected in her work. The fluttering, pastel colors make up the base of her life, the fragmented memories are collaged and layered in the image, and the soft lines depict the uncertainty during self-exploration. In the past two years, Fournier has shifted to using irregular wooden boards, which become metaphors for her changing identity through the dents and rearrangements of the material, allowing the restless mind to reach a state of fulfillment. The artist hopes that viewers can be reminded of the existential meaning of these ordinary objects, and as time goes by, the traces of everyday life that have accompanied us in different stages of life will become sanctuaries in each of our hearts.
